Sarees are tradionally worn by Indian women. The sari is a long strip of unstitched material ranging from five, six, to even nine yards in length, which can be worn in many different ways. A petticoat is worn as an undergarment (skirt) and a blouse is worn as the top. Most Sarees consist of a one-yard border at the end of the end of the sari that is draped around the sholder. There are sarees for everyday casual wear and there are sarees for wedding and parties with heavy hand work and beautiful vivid colors. Sari material can consist of cotton, polyester and fine silk. |
